We are thrilled to welcome Gabe Cohen to the Wheels family! Gabe’s journey to joining Wheels is not just a personal one but also a powerful story many of us know all too well. Gabe joined Wheels last week, and just so happens to currently be in 3rd place for fundraising at over $17,000!!!!! Please join me in welcoming Gabe to our team, cause, and dysfunctional group of dedicated fundraisers and riders! Here is a little excerpt from Gabe’s participant center…
“This is my 10th year riding in the Courage Classic to support Children’s Hospital. Since last year’s race, my young nephew Micah was diagnosed with a brain tumor. This has been very scary for our family, especially his parents, siblings, and grandparents. Micah and his family have shown incredible grit during treatments, and he is fortunately doing well. The passionate doctors and caretakers at Children’s have supported their journey with grace and expertise.”
Micah’s story highlights the exceptional care at Children’s Hospital and the importance of philanthropic support to keep these institutions at the forefront of clinical care.
We are excited to welcome Gabe to Wheels! His courage and determination inspire us all, and we look forward to riding alongside him and Micah when he is ready.

I also would like to wish my dear Brother, Brandon Nuechterlein and marvelous sister-in-law, Bridget Nuechterlein, a Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary today! As almost all of you know, Brandon’s cancer diagnosis and treatment was the spark that lit the fire shaping the very fabric of the rest of our lives. Without CHCO we firmly believe Brandon would not have lived, and we would not get these celebrations. I often quip that without his diagnoses and many challenges he would not be in medicine and I would not be organizing this team, I don’t recommend those as pre-requisites. We are the lucky ones, we know that we were gifted years and experiences that many of our friends do not have the luxury of. I can proudly say that Brandon does not take a single day for granted and has taught me a lot about the value of time, and adventure. It definitely doesn’t hurt that in their marriage I gained a little sister who I might love even more than I love Brandon! LOL! Happy Anniversary you two!
